This energetic and moving teacher appreciation keynote is a motivational shot-in-the arm for your faculty or staff! Garre will inspire your staff with his unique tribute to educators through story, personal experience and his original music, with a focus on character education. "No Other Profession" is a dynamic keynote presentation based on the idea that "who we are" is more important than "what we teach." Teachers are the visionaries for the majority of the children they teach today. If children don't get a clear picture of the future from us, they won't get it anywhere else. - Stop Teaching and Let Children Learn!"
This hands-on interactive full-day workshop is designed to give middle school and high school educators an understanding of the importance of structured down time in the classroom. With more and more secondary campuses implementing block scheduling, this session is a perfect opportunity for secondary teachers to experience many effective and practical processing strategies they can implement immediately into any classroom, regardless of subject area or grade level. Participants will walk away from this session with a new perspective of an essential concept. "The brain does not learn by listening!" Listening is only the initial mechanism of introducing content to the brain. The human brain was not designed to "sit n' git." It is a "pattern seeking," "emotion driven" and "relevance linking" vessel. The brain's quest is to construct "meaning" from everything it experiences for the sole purpose of survival. This training will challenge participants to assess their classroom practice and to look at their teaching from a research-based perspective. Teachers will walk away from this session with "tools" they can use in their classroom to enhance teaching for learning... THE VERY NEXT DAY!
