Why I love teaching PLS courses:

Having had a wonderful PLS instructor and thoroughly enjoying every course I took, I felt that I could do the same for new and veteran teachers by providing the PLS opportunity in a close to home location and a comfortable environment. I enjoy the opportunity of meeting and talking with many great teachers around the Central PA area.

1990 Clarion University B.S. Secondary Education, Earth and Space Science

Ninth Grade Earth and Space Science 15 years.
Adult Education Instructor

Related experience, recognition, awards, etc.:

I am currently a "Classroom for the Future" Teacher and
I am involved with a "Student Teaming" initiative at my high school. I have also served as a Jr. High and Varsity football coach for 12 years

What I love most about teaching:

The thing I like most about teaching is talking to former students many years after they have graduated and hear them say “I really enjoyed your class” or “You were my favorite teacher” . Comments like that make me feel like I have done my job!

My favorite moment in teaching:

One day my accelerated Science students wanted to show me a performance they came up with to help them remember the steps of the hydrologic cycle. Of course I said yes! They all lined up in the classroom and began their performance…It was to the theme of the Pepto Bismol commercial… It was hilarious!! I laughed for days!! They completely caught me off guard with that one!
