What I love most about teaching:

My greatest pleasure in teaching comes when all my students enjoy and grasp a concept or lesson. Watching the students solve problems, work together, develop and mature are great pleasures in the field of education.

My favorite moment in teaching:

I designed a Veterans project that I did with my sophomore language arts students. Throughout the year, they wrote letters to veterans in the community on a monthly basis: learning as much about their veteran as possible. As the month of May approached, students were required to write a biography of their veteran. All the stories were put together into a booklet for both the student and veteran. The Friday before Memorial Day, the kids met their pen pal for the first time at a Veterans’ Memorial Day Party. The students were assigned to committees and were responsible for organizing and hosting the party. I was able to watch the kids solve problems, work together, and develop into mature young adults during this project.

Personal information:

I enjoy going to movies, golfing, reading, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. I especially enjoy quilting and currently own my own long-arm quilting business.
