What We Do and How We Do It

Research-Based Training Design

To develop a comprehensive program that hones the craft of teaching, we really had to do our homework. We began by studying the most accomplished teachers in the country. We interviewed, we analyzed, we interviewed again, and we analyzed again. Through the process, we identified how they communicated, transferred knowledge, and helped learners internalize skills.

"We identified and refined 180 of these skills and performance patterns, both basic and complex that, once mastered, will make any educator a more successful professional. "

What we discovered was that, while each outstanding teacher was unique and talented, all shared similar skills and techniques. We identified and refined 180 of these skills and performance patterns, both basic and complex that, once mastered, will make any educator a more successful professional.

Variety and Flexibility

PLS has organized these highly effective skills and strategies into core programs offered as graduate courses, professional staff development services, online courses, and educational products.

New skills are practiced, coached, and fine-tuned in a safe environment so each educator can use them naturally, enthusiastically, and effectively. Our person-to-person, hands-on, multifaceted teaching methods ensure successful results for professional educators.

We apply our innovative principles of training design to every course, program, and product we offer.

Highest Standards

Each program is intensely researched, finely designed, scrutinized, critiqued, and thoroughly field-tested to ensure its effectiveness. To ensure the highest standards, our programs are meticulously evaluated and modified based on the latest educational research. The research consistently affirms the validity of the skills and strategies included in PLS training design.

While other companies may offer you similar products and services, no company can provide you with the depth, quality, and variety that PLS can.
